The Nerve Injury Clinic takes the health and safety of staff and patients seriously. Following enhancements to the way it operates, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the new normal is something we all now live with, because Covid and Flu, as well as other contagious germs, will remain.

Mask wearing

This is no longer mandatory in physiotherapy appointments. However we recognise that neurological physiotherapy involves face to face, therapist to patient contact. Many of our patients have vulnerabilities due to age or health conditions and therefore we welcome mask wearing (by therapist and patient) if this is something a particular patient feels most comfortable with.

Ventilation

All our premises are temperature regulated and well ventilated to minimise the risk of germ transmission.

Cleaning procedures

The clinic has stringent cleaning procedures including regular cleaning of communal areas, between patient cleaning of treatment rooms, hand washing and personal hand sanitiser use on a regular basis, which patients are also still encouraged to use on entering the clinic.

Following Guidance

We continue to refer to documents from the following organisations to make changes to the way in which physiotherapy is offered where required:

·         Organisation for Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP): Guidance for Opening our Practices.

·         Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

·         Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)

·         Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

·         NHS England

·         Public Health England (PHE) COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines

The Nerve Injury Clinic has a strict Infection Control Policy which is updated regularly as and when Government and professional guidelines changes.

The Nerve Injury Clinic will triage and risk assess patients, before they attend, by asking questions on the phone. This will determine whether patients have any health conditions or reasons why adaptations would make your appointment more comfortable e.g. mask wearing by staff and patients.

If you have any specific queries then please contact us to discuss them, we’ll be happy to help.
